Son inlaw has a 94 Gixxer 1100. He bought a new rear tire a couple of days ago and wanted to go riding. We took off and about 2 minutes into our ride it got so foggy you couldn't see more than 15 or 20 yards ahead. I turned around and went straight back home. I told him we would live to ride another day. He had that new tire and just couldn't stay put. He told me he was going over to a subdivision just up the road from mine (about a 1/4 of a mile)to a friends house. Needless to say about an hour later I got a call from him wanting me to come and get him because he laid his bike down and slid into a ditch. He tryed to tell me his tire gave out LOL. When I got there I looked at the tire and seen it looked just like it did when we left the shop brand new. I took a look at the road and noticed where he crashed was a small S curve in the road. Right away I new he straightened the curve out. Sure enough later after we got home I ask him about it and he fessed up. He is alwright just a little rash on his lower back and the bike needs some repair. Both front and back brake levers and some new plastic. By the way all the fog had blown out and it was clear out when he crashed but he was on a road he was unfamiliar with at night and was going to fast. Lesson learned the hard way.
